Police Boots
In 1992 we were asked by some soldiers in the RAF regiment if we would make them a special boot for a competition they were entering in the USA. The regiment team would be up against forces from all over the world ... they needed it to be
- good sole traction for obstacle courses and trials.
- slip resistant for log walking
- flexible for 'kneel to fire'
- shock absorbant for tabbing 'fully loaded'
- supported enough for running on rough desert terrain
- water repellant but not fully waterproof membrane, breathable enough for all day wear in a warm climate
We came up with a boot we thought would be ok...the name of the competition was the Peacekeeper Challenge...so we called it the Peacekeeper P1 Original Boot.
We slowly became aware that the Peacekeeper P1 Original Boot was selling to Police Officers - at that time many were wearing industrial type boots or 'Doc Martins' and the spec of the Peacekeeper was ideal for their everyday general duties - eventually some forces issued it in a steel toe cap version as their 'boot of choice'.
We are still making the Peacekeeper P1 Original today...virtually unchanged.
